Issue 11 of al-Jadeed Magazine, December 1963
The eleventh issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, was issued in November 1963 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the Month by Saliba Khamis. 2. An article titled "Literary and Artistic Overviews in the Soviet Union" by Emile Touma. 3. Two poems by Abd al-Karim al-Karmi (Abu Salma) titled "Ya Nashir at-Teeb" (Perfume Spreader) and "Oghneyat Beladi” (My Country's Songs). 4. An article titled "Arab Features in Shakespeare's Literature and Personality" by Safa Kholousi. 5. An article titled "The Tragedy of Hadba" by Hussein Nassar. 6. "Al-Hob Wal-Mawt” (Love and Death), a poem by Salim Jabran. 7. An article titled "A New Bidʻah in Islam" by Zaki al-Karmi. 8. An article on bullfighting by Muhammad Abdullah Shafaqi. 9. An article titled "The Novel of Solel Bonnet from Its Beginning" by Jacob Zilber. 10. A story titled "This is Leadership" by Ahmad Abdel-Fattah. 11. An article titled "Arabic Music and Western Music" by David Cohen. 12. "Antics" corner. 13. "Readers' Letters" corner. 14. Cultural and artistic news.
