Taken in 2000, this photograph shows the theatrical performance of the "Min Turab Wa Urjuwan [From Earth and Purple Tree]" play. The play was written by Naṣer ʿumar from Jordan and Tawfiq al-Jabali from Tunisia and directed by Sawsan Darwazeh from Jordan. Performed first at Manger Square in Bethlehem, the play was also performed in Nazareth, Shefa-'Amr, Jordan, and Tunisia where the play won the Technical Theatre Award in 2000. Actors in the play include Tahani Salim, al-Hakim Masʿud, Sami Mitwasi, Shadi Zumurrud, Ranya al-Harthi, Ashraf Farah, Eyad Naṣṣar, Mundher Rihani, and Muhammad al-ʿumari.
