A Letter from Hisham Halawani to His Wife and Son, 1984
Handwritten, this letter is by Hisham Halawani at Nafha Prison to his wife Waela and son Helmi Halawani at al-Makkassed Hospital in Jerusalem on 21 March 1984, where he wrote in an emotional state, imagining himself talking to his wife while she was next to him, and he started telling her of his dreams and thoughts, and that despite the walls of the prison, he could imagine her reading the letter and thinking out loud, he also assured her that time and place are passing and their separation will end. Then, he remembered their visit to the International Damascus Exhibit and that it will not be the last trip they take together. After which, he started writing some of his thoughts including imagining her at home cooking dinner for her an Helmi, leading him to loose sleep imagining his family.
