Issue 1 of al-Jadeed Magazine, January 1988
The first issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture, was founded in 1951 and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, issued in January 1988 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqara and its editor-in-chief Ibrahim Malik. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month titled “New Year and New Accomplishments”. 2. An article titled “The Specificity and Issues of the Relationship Between Cinematic and Theatrical Art” by Nader al-Khatib. 3. A study titled “Literature and Revolution-Theoretical and Methodical Notes” by Mahmoud Amin al-Alem. 4. An interview with Salem Jubran by Riad Baydas for the Palestinian newspaper of al-Yawm as-Sabe. 5. An article titled “35 Years Since the Launch of Brecht Theatre” by Klaus Dieter Fincher. 6. A reading of the collection of Abdennaser Saleh “The Map of Joy” by Yousef Abdel-Karim al-Hamdouni. 7. An article titled “Folk Dance and Dabke Songs” by Issa Khalil Mohsen. 8. A poem titled “A People with One Banner Will Not be Divided” by Ishaq Jaflawi. 9. Two poems titled “Iqrar” (Ratification) and “Biladi” (My Homeland) by Mina Saeed Elayan. 10. A story titled “Consider Your Coffee Drunk” by Mustafa Murrar. 11. An upbringing experiment titled “Children Have my Heart” by Ziad Shalyout. 12. The biography of playwright Neman Ashour and the modern cultural movement by Nizar Marwa. 13. Cultural varieties.
