The Deputy of the Greek Orthodox Patriarch in a Festive Procession, Bethlehem, 6 December 1949
Taken by Sam'an Sahhar, this photograph shows the deputy of the Greek Orthodox Patriarch in the middle of official figures in the city, including Isa al-Bandak, the mayor of Bethlehem, the Egyptian administrative governor of Bethlehem District, and Abdullah al-Tal, the military governor of Jerusalem, in addition to several priests, during their participation in the ceremonial procession to receive the deputy in Manger Square on 6 December 1949, who came to participate in the celebration that will be held the following day on the occasion of the Greek Orthodox Christmas Day.
