Nabeel Alkam is a researcher on Palestinian heritage who was born in the village of Turmus Ayya in 1945. He attended the village schools and studied history at the University of Damascus, before working as a school teacher in Jerusalem and Ramallah. He also worked as an editor of the "at- Turath and al-Mujtama" Magazine issued by the Inash Al Usra Association. He conducted oral interviews with people who lived through the British Mandate and the Nakba, and collected Palestinian folk stories during his tenure as a school teacher. He is the author of several publications, including "Madkhal li Diraset al-Folklore" (An Introduction to the Study of Folklore), "ath-Thaqafa al-Arabiya wa at-Tajdid al-Islami" (Arab Culture and Islamic Revival), and "Tarikh al-Haraka al-Wataniya wa Dawr al-Mar'a fiha" (The History of the National Movement and the Role of Women in It).
