It is a scout troop founded in 1938 in the village of Taybeh, located in the Ramallah district. It was initially known as the Taybeh Youth Group and was the first troupe established in a Palestinian village. It was limited at the beginning to boys and men. In 1944, the girls and young women of the village established a troop of female guides, and the two troops came together in 1955. The troop is known today as the Taybeh Youth and Guides Union Scouts Troop.
show more show lessThe Taybeh Youth Union Scout Troop Collection consists of photographs and documents that chronicle the whole period since the Troop's founding, and document various stations and activities carried out by the Troop, applications for membership that were submitted at the time of its foundation and during subsequent periods, minutes of the meetings of its Administrative Body, in addition to several correspondences issued by and received by the Troop, which capture its relationship with other scout troupes, various official authorities and the local community in Taybeh village during a period that predates the 1948 Nakba until the 1990s.
