George al-A'ma is a researcher, academic, and collector of Palestinian material culture and art, from Bethlehem. A lecturer at Birzeit and Dar Al-Kalima Universities, and the honorary consul of Chile to the State of Palestine.

DESCRIPTION

The collection includes a number of paper-based documents and various material artefacts. The documents include materials issued during the British Mandate period, from the 1920s to the 1940s, such as engineering tenders, insurance policies issued by companies based in Jerusalem, and postcards from the studio of photographer Samaan al-Sahar. It also features paper clippings and business cards belonging to the artist Asim Abu Shaqra, documents from the Shammas family, and a number of Palestinian political posters.
As for the artefacts, they include a selection of Armenian ceramics produced by potters David Ohannessian, Mkrdich Karakashian, and Nishan Balian, who arrived in Jerusalem in 1919 and continued their work there until the 1960s.
