BIOGRAPHY

American Quakers, the Religious Society of Friends in particular, founded a school in Ramallah in 1896 under the name of the Friends Girls School, while work was commenced on establishing the Friends Boys School in al-Bireh in 1901, and continued until the school was inaugurated in 1918. The School began as a girls' training home in Ramallah, training girls in professions such as sewing. Today, RFS offers education based on the International Baccalaureate curriculum for the primary and high stages in two buildings, each of which is dedicated to one of the two stages.
