BIOGRAPHY

The Democratic Women's Movement was established in 1948 under the leadership of Samira Khoury from Nazareth. It was engaged in political and feminist action, leading demonstrations against the Israeli Occupation in Nazareth and providing aid to refugees from the neighbouring villages.

DESCRIPTION

The Democratic Women's Movement Collection includes many photographs of the Movement's activities and events in the 1948 Palestinian Occupied Territory, and documents its participation in demonstrations, seminars and trips. The collection also includes many magazines that were issued in the Occupied Territory, in addition to special documents relating to the details of the Movement's work, such as statements and correspondence.
