BIOGRAPHY

Ahmad Maslamani worked as a doctor at al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, and co-initiated with his colleagues the People's Committees for Health Services in 1985, starting from Jerusalem and gradually expanding to all areas of the West Bank. The Israeli Occupation Authorities arrested him several times in 1984, 1988, 2001 and 2005, and as such, he spent a total of seven years in imprisonment. He assumed the position of the head of the Union of Health Work Committees.

DESCRIPTION

The Ahmad Maslamani Collection contains family photographs of him, and others of his work and participation in medical conferences and workshops. The collection documents his community work and the popular committees in which he participated. It also contains documents, including letters he exchanged with his family during his imprisonment, and letters of condolence that his family received after his death from several prominent personalities and friends.
