Born in Ramallah, Abla Toubasi is the daughter of the physician Daoud Mikhail and the sister of Hanan Ashrawi. She studied at the Friends School.

The Abla Toubasi Collection includes the archives of her family in Palestine and Beirut, as well as photographs of members of the Mikhail family.
