A Palestinian artist, born in Baghdad in 1955 to a family displaced from the village of Ayn Ghazal in the Haifa district, following the Nakba of 1948. He studied fine arts at the University of Baghdad, and moved to Beirut in 1979, where he became involved in journalistic and graphic work within the circles of the Palestinian revolution, designing many of its political and cultural posters. His work spans both realism and abstraction, incorporating sand, wood, paper, and acrylic. He has exhibited in solo and group shows in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Europe, and has participated in international biennials in Berlin, Cairo, and Sharjah.
show more show lessThis collection includes several family photographs taken in Iraq, as well as photographs of artworks by Hosni Radwan and Palestinian posters, some of which he designed. These were issued by the Unified Information Office of the Palestine Liberation Organisation and various factions of the Palestinian revolution.
