Born in 1939, Bashir Sharaf is a teacher and lecturer from Nablus. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Arabic-English translation and a master's degree in philosophy from the University of London. He worked at an-Najah National University in Nablus and translated many works.

The Bashir Sharaf Collection includes several photographs documenting his career, some of him and his colleagues during their trip to Baghdad, as well as others of members of the Sharaf family.
