BIOGRAPHY

The Women's Arab Union Society (WAUS) is a charitable and humanitarian society established in 1955 and registered in 1956. It is located in the city of al-Bireh- al-Madares Street. WAUS joined the Union of Charitable Associations in Jerusalem on 18 July 1965 and was founded by the late Samiha Khalil.

DESCRIPTION

The al-Bireh Women's Arab Union Society (WAUS) Collection contains photographs and documents, including family photographs belonging to Muntaha Jarrar al-Budairi's family and photographs documenting al-Budairi's professional meetings and visits in her capacity as Director- General of Ministry of Education and Higher Education's Student Activities Department and as a WAUS member. The collection includes photographs of WAUS members while preparing various activities such as sewing, other photographs of their participation in plays and demonstrations during the 1990s in addition to others taken for al-Ittihad al-Arabi Private Kindergarten and School during the early 1960s. As for the documents, they include official letters of WAUS, invitations issued by it, and records containing the names of the WAUS members.
