Ashtar Theater is a non-profit organisation established in 1991 in Jerusalem. It is the first theatrical training institution for young people in Palestine, which aims to foster creativity and a commitment to change through a combination of several professional theatrical training, acting and performance programmes and services.

The Ashtar Theater Archive includes two collections. The first collection bears the name of François Abu Salem and contains documents and newspaper clippings that were collected by the late François. The second collection is of the Theater and includes photographs of plays, rehearsals, training workshops, documents, newspaper clippings and video clips about its theatrical performances.
