Al-Fajr Newspaper is an independent political daily newspaper founded in the form of a weekly newspaper in 1972. Its first issue was published on 7 April 1972, and on 5 June 1974, it became a daily newspaper. The newspaper was founded by Yousef Nasri Nasr who became its editor until his disappearance in February 1974. Following his disappearance, Mohammad Batrawi took over and edited some issues of the newspaper until Bashir al-Barghouthi returned to Palestine and became its editor-in-chief in 1976. In 1993, al-Fajr Newspaper was closed down.

The collection consists of ten different volumes of al-Fajr Newspaper and includes issues from 1975 to 1978.
