The General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions is a popular labour organization whose foundation dates back to 1923, under the name of the Arab Workers Association in Haifa. The Palestine Liberation Organisation revived this organization in 1965, when it held the first conference for Palestinian workers in Algeria and called it the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions.

DESCRIPTION

The General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions Collection contains several documents related to the work of the Federation as a labour organization concerned with defending the rights of Palestinian workers, including issues of "Sawt al-Amel" Magazine, issued in the 1990s to monitor the news and activities of the Palestinian labour movement, and an identity card issued by the Arab Workers Association in Haifa.
