Established in 1999, the Handalah Cultural Center is a cultural institution concerned with raising the cultural and artistic levels of the local community, in the village of Safa, located in the Ramallah district, and the surrounding villages through the implementation of activities intended to achieve the vision for which the Center was established. The Center annually organizes the Safa Festival for Culture and Arts, which in turn represents a distinguished activity as well as a cultural and artistic space.

The Handalah Cultural Center Collection contains photographs of many many events and programmes held by the Center. Among these photographs are ones of the Safa Festival of Culture and Arts from its first launch in 1998 until 2006, which reflect the great successes achieved by the festival during that period. The collection also contains photographs of some distinguished art exhibitions organized by the Center, most notably the exhibition of the drawings of the shaheed Naji al-Ali, which was very popular with the public.
