BIOGRAPHY

Born on 27 February 1927, Mohammad Hammoudeh is from the depopulated village of Lifta, located in the Jerusalem district. He studied at the Lifta al-Ameriyya School, then completed the preparatory stage at the Omariya School, and became a university student at the Ibrahimieh College, where he obtained a "Sub-metric" certificate in the Arabic language in 1945. He worked at the Arab Bank in Jerusalem until 1948. After he and his family were forcibly displaced, they settled in the village of Deir Dibwan, located in the Ramallah district, and then he worked as a teacher of the Arabic language and social studies. He lived his life as a political activist, of which he wrote poetry and prose. His house was a destination for many villagers, as he wrote letters on their behalf to their expatriate families and children before he passed away in 1980 in Deir Dibwan.
