BIOGRAPHY

Born in the village of Kharoubeh in Lod in 1934, Hasan al-Khateeb is from the village of Beit Iksa, located in the Jerusalem district. He completed his studies after an interruption, obtained the Matriculation Certificate, became a teacher in a village, and completed his secondary studies while working until he obtained a bachelor's degree from Beirut Arab University, thus becoming the first Jerusalemite teacher to obtain this certificate. Following the June 1967 War, he worked as a teacher, then as principal of the Shuafat School, and founded the Shuafat Family Center, before he died in 1986.

DESCRIPTION

The collection includes a variety of documents and photographs related to the scientific, academic and personal life of Hasan al-Khateeb, which date back to the period between the 1950s and 1980s. On the other hand, the documents are divided into two groups, one about the properties of al-Khateeb and his father, Ali al-Khateeb, in the village of Beit Iksa, located in the Jerusalem district, before the 1948 Nakba, and the other is about Hasan al-Khateeb after the 1948 Nakba and during his residence and work in Beit Hanina.
