Born in 1945 in Jerusalem, Mustafa al-Kurd is an artist, singer and musician. He began studying the Oud in 1962 and was distinguished by his committed artistic style of singing, and in 1970, he co-founded the Jerusalem Institute for Art and Theater. Al-Kurd was arrested in 1976, and after his release, he left the country and went into exile. He played and sang poetry collections by Samih al-Qassim, Mahmoud Darwish, Khalil Touma, and Rashid Hussein, and he composed soundtracks for many Palestinian plays.

The first part of this archive features several certificates and letters of honour and appreciation that he obtained in the fields of theatre and music, as well as a poem praising his playing the oud by Abdel-Qader al-Azza, a booklet about the play "The Fire Raisers!", for which al-Kurd composed music, and a flyer in German that documents one of his artistic contributions. On the other hand, the audio part contains audio recordings documenting what is known as the "Thursday Meetings", held in the early 1990s, in which writers and poets gathered to present and discuss their works, and al-Kurd had a singing segment at the end of each meeting.
