BIOGRAPHY

Sameeh Taha Hammoudeh was born in Bethlehem in 1960 and graduated in political science and anthropology from Birzeit University and the University of South Florida. He worked at the Arab Studies Association in Jerusalem (1985-1992), and the Islam and World Studies Center in Tampa, Florida (1993-1995), and was a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Birzeit University. He also was the editorial director of the periodical "Hawliyat al-Quds" published by the Institute for Palestine Studies in Ramallah. He also has several books, studies and articles related to the Cause of Palestine and the Palestinian Islamic movements. Two of his books are "Sawt mn al-Quds ... al-Mujahid Dawood Saleh al-Husseini mn Khilal Mudhakiratihi and Awraqihi" (A Voice from Jerusalem ... The Freedom Fighter Dawood Saleh al-Husseini through His Diaries and Papers) and Ottoman Ramallah: A Study in Its Social History 1517-1918.

DESCRIPTION

The Sameeh Hammoudeh Collection contains photographs of him and various documents combining his personal and professional life, including his letters, summaries of his lectures, Khutbas he delivered at al-Qassam Mosque in the American State of Tampa in the 1990s, and his notebooks, which document his arrest in the United States of America in the early 21st century.
The documents he collected for his research and writings were also diverse and included quotations, written notes, book reviews, magazines such as the al-Arab, al-Jami'a al-Islamiyya and as-Sabil Magazines, original copies of documents belonging to the Supreme Islamic Council which capture the Islamic endowment properties in Palestine, files pertaining to the life of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, clippings from many newspapers, documents belonging to the depopulated village of Lifta, the records of Ramallah Municipality and Birzeit University such data on student movements, conferences and lectures, as well as various photographs of several places and shrines in Palestine taken in the 1980s.
