Dirar abu Omar is a Palestinian farmer and political and community activist who was born in the village of Burqa in 1962. He studied in the village schools, but was unable to complete his studies because of the Jordanian Law on Objection, so he became involved in national action during the 1987 Intifada and was arrested five times in a total of one year. Between 1994 and 2000, he worked in construction and in 2001, he began working with the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees and still works there.
