Dated 1960, this black-and-white photograph shows Jerusalemite teacher Elizabeth Naṣer (centre) with a group of pupils at Rawdat el-Zuhur School in al-Quds (Jerusalem) forming a circle to play in the schoolyard. In 1952, a few years in the aftermath of the Nakba, Naṣer started the school as a shelter home, catered to Palestinian destitute girls.
