A Photograph of al-Nuzha Theatre before Renovations, 1983
A black-and-white photograph of the charred al-Nuzha Theatre. This theatre was constructed in 1950 and set on fire twice in 1967 and 1979. In 1983, the Palestinian National Theatre / al-Hakawati group, including Abu Salem Amer Khalil, Edwar Moʿallem, Ibrahim Khalayla, Imad Mitwaly, Imad Samara, Jackie Lubeck, and Shhady arrived at the charred scene and renovated it over six months at a stretch to become the seat of al-Hakawati Theatre.
