A black-and-white personal photograph of François abu Salem taken in Palestine when he was eight years old. François abu Salem is a theatre director and actor born to French parents. He changed his name from François Gaspar to François abu Salem. With the help of his then-wife and collaborator Jackie Lubeck, they founded the Palestinian National Theatre - El-Hakawati in 1975.
