"Gilgamesh", a Poster Promoting a Performance by El-Hakawati Theatre Company, 2007
A colour poster promoting El-Hakawati Theatre Company's production of the play "Gilgamesh" in 2007. Directed by François abu Salem, the play was inspired by the Epic of Gilgamesh, an epic poem discovered in the nineteenth century dating back to five thousand years and written on Sumerian clay tablets. Mixing past and present, the play, which needs a cast of 25 actors, was performed by three actors only, Abu Salem, ʿĀmer Khalil and his son Yazan due to the lack of resources.
