"The Immigrant Workers Festival against Racism in France", a Poster, 1978

A poster announcing the Immigrant Workers Festival against Racism in France which took place in Montpellier in 1978. The festival was held under the name "One Struggle" and it featured performances by the theatre troupe of the Arab Workers Party and an Arab-Turkish musical band in addition to the screening of films highlighting the struggle of Arab workers in Paris and Marseille. François abu Salem was politically active and interested in these events due to his leftist leanings. He was a champion of oppressed and occupied peoples all over the world and this was reflected in his politicised theatre which he used to defend the liberty and dignity of nations. Later on, he transformed his theatre into a professional one concerned with representing the struggles of these nations on stage.
