A Photograph of the "Al-Bahth An Umar al-Khayyam" Europe Tour, el-Hakawati Theatre
Taken in 1990, this black-and-white photograph shows el-Hakawati Theatre's "Al-Bahth An Umar al-Khayyam [In Search of Umar al-Khayyam]" Europe Tour. Written by Jackie Lubick and François abu Salem, the play summons historical figures to be presented as part of a theatrical performance that casts its projections on contemporary reality as the play takes us back to 1908 to give us a presentation on the events that accompanied the first Crusades against Jerusalem, depicting the ruin and destruction that the soldiers inflicted on everything they encountered.
