Issue 235 of the Attali'ah Weekly, 2 September 1982
Published on 2 September 1982, this document shows issue 235 of the Attali'ah Weekly, whose editor-in-chief was Bashir al-Barghouthi and which was printed at the Salah ad-Din Press in Jerusalem. This issue contained numerous subjects, including the US-Arab political relations following the Palestine Liberation Organisation's (PLO) departure from Beirut; the Israeli Occupation State's claims on the handing over by the PLO's fighters of their weapons to the Lebanese national forces; Menachem Begin's approval of the construction of 11 new settlements in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip; the rejection by Palestinian refugees in the West Bank of the resettlement scheme proposed by Mordechai Ben-Porat, an Israeli minister in addition to the Israeli provocative practices against Arab merchants at the Christian Quarter in the Old Town of the occupied city of Jerusalem. It also contained several political, economic and social news items, and dedicated a section for sports, arts and cultural news.
