Abdullah al-Asʿad, from Attil, a Leader in the Great Palestine Rebellion
Abdullah al-Asʿad (Abu Shaddad) was born in Attil near Tulkarm, 1913. He was the commander of Tulkarm during the Great Palestine Rebellion 1936, he also was ʿĀref Abd ar-Razzaq's associate. The British sentenced him to 15 years in prison but he escaped prison on 12 Apr 1939 and took on the task of going after traitors and spies in Tulkarm. On 10 May 1939, he fought in Zeita battle against the British and killed 20 of them, 3 fighters were killed.
