The Brothers Samy and Shafiq Taha al-Asmar, Two Engineers from Jaffa Attempted to Assassinate Ben Gurion
The brothers Samy and Shafiq Taha al-Asmar are two engineers from Jaffa, they used to work for as-Sakb limited shares company. The fought in the Great Palestine Rebellion 1936 and were connected to Sheikh Hasan Salama, and with help from Muṣtafa at-Taher, they formed the Arms and Mines committee. They planned to plant a mine in Ben Gurion's plane, but the mine exploded while they were in proccess of making it, killing them both on 26 Jan 1948.
