Mahmud Saif ad-Din al-Eirany, an Author and Fictionist from Jaffa
Mahmud Saif ad-Din al-Eirany was born in Jaffa, 1914. He studied in Collège des Frères in Jaffa and mastered several languages including English and French. His writings were in Palestinian newspapers like ad-Difaʿ, Falastin, and al-Jameʿa al-Islameyye. He issued a literary weekly magazine, al-Fajr, but it soon stopped being published. His stories were published in 4 collections, Awwal ash-Shawt 1937, Maʿ an-Nas 1956, Ma Aqall ath-Thaman 1962, and Mata Yantahy Hatha al-Layl 1964. He also has a translated story collection titled, Aqaṣis min ash-Sharq wal Gharb. He died 1974.
