Issued in Arabic, this 40-page document shows the first and only issue of Shira' al-Mar'a Magazine by the Union of Palestinian Women's Committees. Issued in the 1980s, this issue zoomed in on women's economic liberation as a path to their social and political liberation and featured the following: 1. An article entitled "Palestinian Women in the Palestinian Occupied Territories". 2. An article entitled "Palestinian Women Stand in the Face of Weakness" about the role the UPWC played in resisting peace talks within the Palestine Liberation Organization after their withdrawal from Lebanon. 3. Comments on the first conference of the UPWC in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. 4. Women through the ages. 5. International Women's Day. 6. Education and youth. 7. An Interview with a female prisoner. 8. Meeting members of the UPWC. 9. Raising children. 10. Child Labour in America. 11. An article entitled "With the National Front We Can Assure the Failure of the Hussein-Arafat Accord".
