Taken in 2006, this colour photograph shows the theatrical performance "Zaman al-ʾAbreyaʾ [Time of the Innocent]" by the Popular Theatre Troupe. Based on the German author Siegfried Lenz's play of the same name, the play, directed by Fathy Abder-Rahman and translated by Tariq al-ʿĀny, addresses the issue of sacrifice and redemption as opposed to the idea of people engaging in the routine of their daily lives.
