"That's Her Image and This is the Lover's Suicide by Mahmud Darwish", A Painting by Muna as-Suʿudy, 1979

Found in the "Homage to Mahmud Darwish" collection of 7 paintings made and singed in 1979 by Jordanian-Palestinian artist Muna as-Suʿudy, this colour painting, titled, "That's Her Image and This is the Lover's Suicide by Mahmud Darwish", was made between 1977-1980 as a tribute to Palestinian poet Mahmud Darwish and a commemoration of his poems. The following section of the poem is included on the front lower side of the painting: The land begins from the pain tissue - I am like this  I walk over the spear's head - It is like me  And I walk in the flames of the wheat  Where does it's grounds begin  From its occupied body  This is my new fire The route of dreams Have they returned to Haifa, is it not gone? I shall walk with my flowing blood over the sea, over the sea, over the sea
