Handwritten by Bassam ash-Shakʿa, this four-page article addresses the Gulf war and Iraq as a power threatening Israel and the statements made by former U.S. President George Bush, coinciding with the Gulf crisis, recognising Israel and making peace with it. Ash-Shakʿa states that the Arab strategy must focus on the rights of the Palestinian people, the freedom of the Arab states and having an economic and political Arab unity with the Palestinian cause in the centre.
