"The Confederation with Jordan", an Article by Bassam Ash-Shakʿa
Handwritten by Bassam ash-Shakʿa, this two-page article discusses the Jordan confederation plan by tackling the following: the circumstances during which the plan was suggested in terms of the absence of Arab unity and solidarity and the success of the U.S. plan in dragging Palestinians and Arab states into bilateral negotiations with Israel. The plan was suggested before recognizing the national and humanitarian rights of the Palestinian people and insisting on Israeli colonialism, and military and self-rule. Finally, Ash-Shakʿa rounds off his point by emphasizing the importance of reclaiming the national foundation of the Palestinian cause by approving to have the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) take part in the negotiations as the only representative of the Palestinian people.
