"The Iraqi War is not Separated from the Arab Cause", an Article by Bassam ash-Shaka, 1990-1999

Handwritten by Bassam al-Shakaa, this three-page article titled, "The Iraqi War is not Separate from the Arab cause", includes a collection of notes on the Iraqi crisis and dissects it as a series of policies which targeted the Arab nation since its rise before the first world war around the beginning of the great Arab revolution and colonialism (Balfour Declaration, Sykes-Picot Agreement...). Ash-Shakaa argues that (1) the mandate on Kuwait is not the main reason for the U.S. invasion of Iraq; rather, the conspiracy against Iraq first began as a result of its victory over Iran and achieving technological and scientific developments. (2) The Iraqi crisis is in its essence a crisis of the Arab nation and the absence of joint interests and goals which had encouraged the U.S. to invade Iraq. (3) Contradictions at the Arab League Summitt in Baghdad, held to confront the invasion of Iraq and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), appeared when the Arab states wouldn't offer support to the Palestinian people. (4) Ash-Shakaa rounds off the article by calling for the importance of lifting the seige from Iraq with the help of Iran, Syria and Jordan, endling negotiations and holding on to the Palestinian Intifada.
