A Letter from Yusef bin Aly abu Irhaima to the Sharia judge in Jerusalem, 18th Dec 1920

Hand-written in Arabic, this one-page letter is sent from Yusef bin Aly abu Irhaima to the Sharia judge in Jerusalem on 18th December 1920, in which he mentions that his brother; Mahmud abu Irhaima has not been seen for four years, right after he had joined the Ottoman military, consequently his wife; Khadra bint Hussein has approved to marry Yunes al-Abd Irhaima, although she is still legally married to Mahmud abu Irhaima. The Sheikh of Bayt Rima village has not approved of this new marriage, so they sought the Sheikh of Majdal Yaba village; Ahmad Musa who agreed to conduct the marriage certificate. In the letter, Yusef asks to annul this invalid marriage and issue a judgement of the Shari'a law regarding the case.
