The four hundred and thirty-third issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on June 19, 1986. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. The employees at Birzeit University go on an open strike to protest the non-renewal of faculty membersʾ contracts following the decision of the board of trustees. 2. Fighting continues in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon despite the agreement to stop hostilities. 3. The fourth anniversary of the death of the shaheed Dawood Atawna. 4. The municipality of al-Quds (Jerusalem) will begin work on the Damascus Gate project to establish an underground bus station. 5. The Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions in the West Bank continues its activities in solidarity with Palestinian workers. 6. From the chronicles of the West Bank and Gaza Strip (Israeli authorities prevent the burial of a shaheed in his hometown, the occupation authorities continue their campaign against shepherds, the closure of six shops in Hebron continues, land seizures near Hebron, the Likud party plans for the establishment of 25 new settlements, the occupation authorities conduct land surveys near Dura, settlers continue their attacks on Arab lands in Nahalin, the residents of Balata Refugee Camp fight against attempts to drive them out of the camp, the military rule authorities confiscate the seal of Kafr ad-Dikʾs mukhtar without disclosing the reason). 7. The residents of Sanniriya stand in the face of Israeli land surveyors. 8. Former prisoners are prohibited from travelling. 9. The health status of a Palestinian prisoner deteriorates. 10. A Palestinian resident gets exiled to Jordan. 11. The arrest of a Palestinian from Hebron. 12. The residents of Shu'fat Refugee Camp reject the proposal of the mayor of West Jerusalem to evacuate the camp and resettle the residents elsewhere. 13. The Birzeit Universityʾs Union of Teachers and Employees calls for holding a popular solidarity festival. 14. The Union of Palestinian Working Women Committees continues its celebrations of June first (International Childrenʾs Day) and organizes two children rallies in Ramallah and Biddu. 15. Women organisations and movements in al-Quds (Jerusalem) condemn the secret meetings between the Jordanian and Israeli government. 16. The surgical unit at Rafidia Hospital shuts down completely due to insufficient funding. 17. Arab workers face blatant discrimination compared to their Jewish colleagues in addition to their lower wages and the violations of their financial, legal, and human rights. 18. The Ramallah Workersʾ Union revives its active role. 19. The Workersʾ Union at the Jerusalem District Electricity Company issues a statement announcing the necessary measures to ensure all workers receive their salaries.
