Attali'ah Newspaper, Issue 434, June 26 1986
The four hundred and thirty-fourth issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on June 26, 1986. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. The Israeli Supreme Court issues a protective measure to stop the levelling of lands, olive tree uprooting, and the evacuation of 12 houses in al-Midya village. 2. Birzeit Universityʾs Union of Teachers and Employees holds the board of trustees responsible for the disruption of classes due to their refusal to solve the issue of the strike. 3. A meeting at the headquarters of the Union of Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Workers in al-Quds (Jerusalem) to discuss the unfair dismissal of tens of Arab hotel workers in al-Quds (Jerusalem). 4. Israeli censorship authorities ban the performance of the play A Revolution against Hypnosis. 5. An article entitled “Why did the Israeli Police Keep Mum about Land Sale Fraud in Hebron?” 6. From the chronicles of the West Bank and Gaza Strip (The employees at al-Ahli Hospital reiterate their position on the importance of keeping the hospital running, lifting the travel ban on several Palestinian residents, a new settlement road near Yaʾbad, the Matriculation Examinations begin today, construction work continues at Khan al-Ahmar Mosque, suspending food rations in the Gaza Strip, land seizures in Jenin, continued attacks on Arab lands, banning 30 trucks transporting watermelon from crossing over to Jordan). 7. The graduation of a new cohort of students from the Society of Inash al-Usra Society. 8. A section on the detainments and sentences of prisoners in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. 9. Israeli bulldozers level lands in Zayta near Hebron. 10. The residnets of Saʾir protest the orders of the Israeli occupation to annex some of the villageʾs lands to become part of the Israeli settlement Asfar. 11. An article entitled “Al-Quds after 19 Years under the Occupationʾs Yoke… All Attempts to Uproot Its People have Failed”. 12. Arab workers in Israeli workshops form a committee to protect their rights. 13. Wrapping up the activities of the Friday Club and opening a new summer camp for young boys in Salfit. 14. The Israeli Supreme Court confirms its seizure of the Jerusalem District Electricity Companyʾs property.
