Printed in Ṣalah ad-Din Press with Bashir al-Barghuthy as the managing editor, this 12-page issue no. 468 of Attaliʾah Newspaper was issued on 19 January 1987 and features the following news pieces: 1. Murphy explains the Amman meetings to Shamir. 2. Western Beirut fights against Amal Movement, a broad front facing injustice and sectarianism. 3. The assassination of communist leader and righteous thinker Hussein Marwah. 4. Key matters in Shamir talks: Direct negotiations, Syrian threats, and storing American weaponry. 5. Mass protests continue in the 1984 Palestinian Occupied Territories, demonstrations in Ramallah and al-Bireh and the murder of a driver in Askar Palestinian Refugee Camp. 6. New successes in the Afghanistan reconciliation process, 20,000 families return to their homeland. 7. Washington uses the "Iranian Threat" banner to consolidate its dominance in the Gulf. One million people have died in the war, and the two sides continue, "even if blood flows into rivers". 14. Masses in the 1948 Palestinian Occupied Territories protest in solidarity with besieged refugee camps in Beirut. 15. News of labour and trade unions. 16. Reagan stands against the World Disarmament Conference in Geneva. 17. Teachers in the 1948 Palestinian Occupied Territories demand the end of house arrests. 18. Advanced American weaponry for Israel and a few for Arabs "friends", and weapons delivered to Jordan aimed at confronting Syria. 19. In an attempt to prevent the collapse of Lahad Army: The Israeli Occupation Forces doubles its forces in Southern Lebanon.
