The five hundred and first issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on October 8, 1987. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: - A search campaign in the Gaza Strip following the clash between the Israeli Occupation Forces and a Palestinian armed cell. - The Soviet Union will not establish contact with Israel before holding the World Congress with the participation of the Palestine Liberation Organisation. - Shultz attempts to bring Husain, Mubarak, and Shamir together. - Israel sends Washington new military requests. - The Palestine Liberation Organisation calls for the emergency Arab League Summit to include the Cause of Palestine in its agenda. - A major escalation in the Gulf: Iranian gunboats attack a Saudi Arabian oil tanker. - Jordanian police orders against the students of community colleges in the West Bank. - The Gulf countries unite against Afghanistan in exchange for American protection. - 70 prisons and 35 thousand political prisoners in Iraq. - Jordan faces a serious economic and financial crisis. - Israeli authorities force the families of two shuhadaʾ from Gaza to bury them at night. - The employees of Abu Dis College continue their strike. - A new Israeli settlement built on fraudulently bought land. - A new Israeli settlement in South Lebanon. - From the chronicles of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. - A new list of banned books. - For the second month in a row: education is hindered in many schools across the West Bank and Gaza Strip. - Rafah is a city with no services: Whole neighbourhoods live without water nor electricity. - News on the issues of workers and trade unions. - Fierce battles against foreign intervention in Angola. - American-Iraqi coordination preceded the relaunching of the Tanker War.
