Attali'ah Newspaper, Issue 832, February 24 1944
The eight hundred and thirty-second issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on February 24, 1994. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. Seizure and levelling of lands to connect the Israeli settlements Bakir and Immanuel in the northern West Bank. 2. Highway 25 encroaches on 8000 dunams of land in Hebron. 3. An interview with Suleiman an-Najjab on the Palestine Liberation Organisationʾs Executive Committee. 4. Public school teachers continue their protests in front of the offices of the Education Ministry in the West Bank. 5. The villages of Bani Zeid celebrate the establishment anniversary of the Palestinian Peopleʾs Party. 6. The women branch of the Agricultural Committees organizes a training workshop on beekeeping. 7. More green ID cards are distributed on the residents of Jericho. 8. Suspending the publishing of Akhbar al-Balad newspaper. 9. An article entitled “The Suffering of Palestinian Refugees in South Lebanon… Thousands of Families Await being Assigned a New Home by the UNRWA as the Lebanese government anticipates the results of the negotiations with Israel.” 10. The power shortage in Jamma'in causes a resident to burn his hand because of the darkness. 11. Examination dates are postponed at Hebron University. 12. The Palestine Commercial Bank resumes its work in mid-March. 13. Israeli threats and pressures at the Paris talks on economic relations. 14. The first exhibition on Palestinian popular heritage in the Gaza Strip. 15. A second visual arts exhibition in Gaza. 16. Israeli settlers continue their attacks on Palestinian residents after the death of a settler in South Nablus. Huge military reinforcements in the cities of the West Bank. 17. The screening of Rashid Masharawiʾs documentary Curfew at the Palestinian National Theatre in al-Quds (Jerusalem). 18. Taking over Palestinian water resources is the occupationʾs unswerving policy. 19. An article entitled “On Our Cultural Scene and Our Mission for the Present Stage”. 20. A column of recent key releases. 21. An article entitled “Reflections on the Late Poet Muin Bseiso: An Outspoken Poet in His Confrontation with the Truth”. 22. The disappearance of a soldier since the Battle of Karameh. 23. A Palestinian trade union activist is released after 60 days of detainment. 24. Higher crime rates in Israel. 25. The Knesset member Mahamid calls for an investigation of the closure of Palestinian land and calls for issuing ID cards and travel permits. 26. An article penned by Abdul-Majid Hamdan “The Sane donʾt Jump from the Frying Pan into the Fire”.
