Omar Al-Jallad's Interview with the Palestinian Museum, 'Never Part' Exhibition, 2013
A video clip documenting Omar al-Jallad's interview with the Palestinian Museum as part of the "Never Part" project. Through this project, the museum aimed to collect narratives related to cherished and profoundly significant belongings preserved by Palestinians, which serve as epitomes of their connection to their homeland. Al-Jallad preserves a family archive belonging to his mother, the physician Zeinab al-Muhib; his aunt, the visual artist Fatima al-Muhib; and his maternal grandfather Ibrahim al-Muhib, the editor of the "Lisan Al-Arab" magazine during the British Mandate. Among the family's significant possessions was the "Political Prisoner" statue, won by his aunt Fatima in an international competition in 1953, but it was destroyed by the Israeli occupation along with a portion of the archive when they raided the house in 1967.
