Ali Obayat's Interview with the Palestinian Museum, 'Never Part' Exhibition, 2013
A video clip documenting Ali Obayat's interview with the Palestinian Museum as part of the "Never Part" project. Through this project, the museum aimed to collect narratives related to cherished and profoundly significant belongings preserved by Palestinians, which serve as epitomes of their connection to their homeland. Obayat shares the story behind a wooden leg he keeps, which was used by his father from the age of sixteen until his passing, spanning 59 years. His father lost his leg in a landmine explosion in the Kfar Etzion settlement when Palestinians went to inspect it after the Jordanian army had expelled Jews from the area. They were shocked to discover that the area had been booby-trapped before the Jewish departure.
