Printed in English on 1 June 1981, this document shows a letter from Brian Urquhart, Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs, to Nablus Mayor Bassam Shak'a confirming that he received the telegram Shak'a sent on 26 May about the general situation in Hebron. Urquhart adds that the case has been referred to a special committee for the purposes of investigating Israeli practices that affect human rights, and that the Secretary-General is following up the situation in the Palestinian Occupied Territories in order to achieve and ensure a just peace in the Middle East.
