A Letter from Hisham Halawani to His Wife, Waela, 1984
Handwritten, this letter is from Hisham Halawani at Nafha Prison to his wife Waela and son Helmi at Sowaneh Neighbourhood in Jerusalem on 5 November 1984, where he replied to his wife's letter, expressing his sadness for not being to share her daily burdens, encouraging her to write and study, asking her to move past her fears regarding her academic future, and seeing that bravery and fear as two sides of the same coin and that education and development gradually come to be. At the end of the third page, he asked her to share some of the daily responsibilities with their son Helmi to support and encourage him to actively participate in the family, and he ended his letter by sending his warm greetings to all family members.
